I like to scrapbook an Alex page each year on her birthday. This photo was taken on her first birthday while she was staying with us in San Antonio and Jen was deployed to Thailand. She would have been 21 this year.
Alex would have been 21 years old in a few days. Jen is scattering some of Alex's ashes in each state they pedal through. Galen, Jen and I lived on the Mississippi River between Savanna and Thomson, IL for more than a decade so it seemed appropriate to leave some of Alex's ashes here. We found a place we could get close to the river. It was sad, but good that we were sad together.
