May 27 - Remembering Alex
Alex would have been 21 years old in a few days. Jen is scattering some of Alex's ashes in each state they pedal through. Galen, Jen and I lived on the Mississippi River between Savanna and Thomson, IL for more than a decade so it seemed appropriate to leave some of Alex's ashes here. We found a place we could get close to the river. It was sad, but good that we were sad together.
May 27 - First cache
Ken found his first geocache today. Jen, like her dad, doesn't care much for geocaching but Ken thinks he might like it a lot.

May 23 - Church
We went to Sunday school and church at the Methodist Church in Chester. They were so nice to us and not only gave us permission to stay in their parking lot and hook up to their water, but even gave us the key to the kitchen! Unfortunately, we couldn't get our rig in the parking lot. We tried, but when our fiver and truck started sliding toward the building we decided it was time to move on.
Galen and Popeye at the new Visitor Center
We couldn't find a place to stay in Chester so crossed this bridge over the Mississippi River to an RV Park in Perryville, MO.
